I'm Megan. I'm a neurodivergent licensed mental health counselor, and the person behind Balanced Living Counseling Services. I work with adults who are ready to stop performing wellness and start actually feeling better. My job is to help you make sense of what you've been carrying, and then help you move through it.
I'm warm, direct, and a little irreverent. Therapy with me is a conversation, not a lecture.
I don't sit in silence and nod. I don't use jargon to sound important. I ask the questions you're avoiding, point out the patterns you can't see, and hold space for the parts of you that are scared, exhausted, or convinced you're "too much." When it's useful, we laugh. When it's necessary, we go deep. Both are allowed here.
What you can expect from me
- -A real human across the screen. I show up as myself, which makes it easier for you to show up as you.
- -Direct feedback without harshness. I'll tell you what I'm noticing, even when it's hard to say.
- -Tools that don't just live in session. Everything we practice is meant to work in your real life.
- -Respect for your pace. We won't rush, but we also won't stay stuck where it's comfortable.
My training is grounded in Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and attachment-based approaches. I'm also deeply influenced by the simple truth that healing happens in relationships where you feel safe enough to be honest. More than any technique, I trust the connection we build to guide the work.
Outside of sessions, I'm probably drinking coffee, collecting rocks, crocheting, reading, enjoying the outdoors, or trying to convince myself that rest is productive. I'm a work-in-progress like everyone else, and I think that's a good thing for a therapist to admit.
Meet the team
My furry co-workers
They don't have licenses, but they've logged plenty of hours. You may catch a cameo in a session, usually a tail, an ear, or a well-timed sigh.

Wendy
Chief greeter. Believes every session should start with a stretch.

Huck
Resident softie and excellent co-regulator. Often found nearby, quietly supervising.

Gus
The one you'll see most in sessions. Usually asleep in his bed on my desk.
