Insurance and cost in Florida
I'm in-network with Cigna, Premera, Lifewise, and First Choice Health (Kaiser PPO). For other plans I'm out-of-network and provide monthly superbills you can submit for reimbursement - many Florida PPO plans cover a portion of out-of-network therapy. Full details on the insurance and cost page.
Frequently asked questions
Can I see you from anywhere in Florida?
Yes. I can work with people who are physically located anywhere in Florida during the appointment, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Naples, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Sarasota, and smaller communities.
What time are appointments in Florida?
My usual hours are 9am to 3pm Pacific, which is 12pm to 6pm Eastern for most Florida clients. If you are in the Central Time portion of Florida, we will confirm the local appointment time.
Can I continue therapy if I spend part of the year in another state?
I am licensed in Florida, Washington, and Wisconsin. If you are physically in one of those states, we may be able to continue meeting. Please share travel plans ahead of time so we can confirm.
Does Brainspotting work through telehealth?
Yes. Brainspotting can be provided through secure video. You remain conscious and in control, and we can adjust the pace or stop at any time.
What insurance do you take?
Balanced Living Counseling Services is in network with Cigna, Premera, Lifewise, and First Choice Health (Kaiser PPO). Exact coverage depends on your plan and location, so verify benefits directly with your insurer.
What if my insurance is out of network?
Ask whether your plan includes out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits. I can provide documentation for reimbursement requests, but the plan decides what it will pay.
Do I need to be at home for online therapy?
No, but you must be physically in a state where I am licensed and in a private, safe space. A parked car may offer privacy for some people, but it should never be used while driving.
Is this practice available for emergencies?
No. Balanced Living Counseling Services is an outpatient practice and does not provide emergency or crisis response. Call 911 or 988, or go to the nearest emergency department if you need immediate help.
