Privacy Policy

How your information is handled.

Overview

This page is maintained by Megan D'Angelo, LMHC (Balanced Living Counseling Services) to explain how information submitted through this website is collected, used, and stored. Clinical records and protected health information (PHI) are governed by the separate HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices you receive at intake, not this policy.

Information collected on this site

This website does not host a client portal. The only information you actively share with this site is what you choose to send via the contact form, email, or phone number listed - typically your name, contact details, and a brief message about why you're reaching out.

The site may log basic technical information (browser type, device, referring page) for security and performance purposes.

How information is used

Information you send is used only to respond to your inquiry, schedule a consultation, or provide information you've requested. It is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing.

Third-party services

Consultations are scheduled through TidyCal, an external booking platform. Therapy sessions are conducted via a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform provided separately at intake. Use of these tools is governed by their own privacy policies.

Google Ads measurement

The booking page loads a Google Ads tag so this practice can see whether its ads lead people to book a consultation. Google may receive your browser and device details, the page you visited, and an ad-click identifier, and may set a cookie for this purpose. No names, contact details, or health information are sent, and ad personalization (remarketing) is turned off.

Visitors from the EU, UK, Switzerland, and Canada are asked first, and the tag only loads if they accept. Anyone can change or withdraw their choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. See how Google uses data.

Your rights

You can request that any information you've submitted via this site be deleted by emailing contact@balancedlivingcounselingservices.com. Requests related to clinical records follow the process described in the HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.
